VALMIS: Tammikuinen Pusero / FO: January Pullover

Oon niiiin ylpee et sain tän valmiiks kahdessa viikossa!
En ois ikinä uskonut, mut ollaan ajeltu edestakaisin tää kaks viikkoo,
ja autossa Typy nukkuu ja Mies ajaa ni mä saan neuloa kaksikin tuntia putkeen. ;o)

Tämä antaa minulle tarpeeksi uskoa itseeni osallistuakseni Ravelympics 2010:iin.
Ravelympics = neulomis- ja virkkaushaaste Ravelryssa.
Haaste on aloittaa ja lopettaa projekti olympialaisten aikana eli 17 päivässä.
Tänä vuonna Vancouverissa pidetään talviolympialaiset 12.-28. helmikuuta.

I'm sooo proud that I could finish this in two weeks!

I would've never believed it but we have been driven back and forth these two weeks,

and in the car Chick is sleeping and Man is driving so I can knit even for two straight hours. ;o)

This gives me enough belief in myself to participate in Ravelympics 2010.

Ravelympics = a knitting or crocheting challenge in Ravelry.

A challenge to start and finish a project during the olympics so in 17 days.

This year there are winter olympics to be held in Vancouver from 12th to 28th of February.

Muunnelmia

1) Neuloin tasaista pidempään kuin ohjeessa ennen kavennuksia.
2) Kavensin vyötärölle 2x2 mallikertaa (ohjeessa 1x2) ja lisäsin ne
takaisin niin että sivuilla yhdet ja rinnan alle toiset. Tsekkaa toinen kuva!
3) Tein levennyksen hihoihin. Neuloin ensin 8 tuumaa 8 mallikerralla,
lisäsin sitten yhden päästäkseni XL-koon 9 mallikertaan.
4) Neuloin sekä kauluksen että hihat pyörönä.

(Vahingossa tuli rinnan alle myös pitsivirhe…
Ilmeisesti tarttui neulomisvirus Knitted Bliss:iltä häneltä kun bongasin ohjeenkin!) ;oD

Mitä tekisin toisin…
1) En tekisi kavennuksia ihan putkeen vaan jättäisin ainakin tuuman väliin.
2) Tekisin rinnanaluslisäykset korkeammalle (noin 3-5 mallikertaa korkeammalle).

Modifications

(1) I knitted even longer than in the pattern before the decreases.

2) I decreased 2x2 lace repeats (1x2 in the pattern) for the waist and added them back

so that other pair came to the sides and other pair under the chest. Check the 2nd photo!

3) I added an increase to the sleeves. I knitted the first 8 inches with

8 lace repeats and added then 1 repeat to get the 9 of the size XL.

4) I knitted both the scoop neck and the sleeves in round.

(I also did an lace error under the chest by accident…

The knit virus was probably catched from Knitted Bliss from whom I also spotted the pattern!) ;oD

What would I do differently…

1) I wouldn’t do the decreases on the trot but knit even atleast for an inch in between them.

2) I’d also do the increases under the chest higher (about 3-5 lace repeats higher).

Kärsimättömänä immeisenä oli pakko tilata ihan itse se Kaiku.
En voinut enää vaan istua ja odottaa, että joku tekisi sen puolestani.

Hyökkäsin siis Bookplussaan ja tilasin itselleni Diana Gabaldonin An Echo in the Bone -kirjan.
Aikaani säästääkseni tilasin samalla myös Dan Brownin The Lost Symbol -kirjan. ;o)
Kirjojen toimitusaika on 4-6 arkipäivää! ;o)

Ja 3 viikkoa sitten tilasin Diana Gabaldonin Outlander -kirjan signeerattuna Poisoned Pen:istä,
niin minusta tulee kohta tosi onnellinen... ;oD

As an impatient person I had to order the Echo all by myself.

Couldn't sit and wait anymore to someone else to do it.

You gotta do things yourself, right? ;oD

So I attacked Bookplus and ordered Diana Gabaldon's "An Echo in the Bone".

And to save time I also ordered Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol". ;o)

The delivery time of the books is 4-6 work days! ;o)

And 3 weeks ago I ordered Diana Gabaldo'n "Outlander" autographed from Poisoned Pen

so I'm about to get really happy soon... ;oD

Olen vuoden sisällä lukenut Diana Gabaldonin Muukalainen -sarjaa.
Sarjasta on toistaiseksi suomennettu 6 ekaa tiiliskiven kokoista osaa:
1) Muukalainen (Outlander)
2) Sudenkorento (Dradonfly in Amber)
3) Matkantekijä (Voyager)
4) Syysrummut (Drums of Autumn)
5) Tuliristi (The Fiery Cross)
6) Lumen ja tuhkan maa (A Breath of Snow and Ashes)

Sarjasta on kuukausi sitten ilmestynyt uusi osa 7) An Echo in the Bone (suom. Kaiku luussa).

Kuulin juuri, että saan Kaiun lainaan eräältä yhteisöltä kunhan vain he ovat sen tilanneet.

Ja toivon että he eivät tilaisi sitä paikasta josta sen tuleminen kestää viikkoja!

During the last year I have red Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.

For now the 6 first brick size books have been translated into finnish.

The book list is above (also in english).

A month ago the 7th book - An Echo in the Bone - was published.

I just heard that I get to lend the Echo from this one association once they have ordered it.

I just hope they won't order it from a place from where it takes weeks to reach me!
